Sky launches exclusive designer Energy Saving

Monitor to celebrate Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day on 22^nd April Sky has collaborated with acclaimed fashion designer Richard Nicoll to create a limited edition Wattson energy monitor that helps people keep an eye on how much energy is being used around the home. Richard Nicoll’s retro star print design gives the quirky energy saving monitor a new look and makes a stylish addition to households looking to save money and cut their energy consumption.

 

Created by UK design collective DIY Kyoto, the clever, wireless Wattson device shows you how much electricity is being used around the house at any one time and can help cut annual electricity bills by up to 25% at a time when saving money. 

 

Sky is launching the limited edition Wattson as part of its support for Earth Day in the UK. The event has been marked all over the world since 1970 as a day to encourage people to appreciate the planet and raise awareness for climate change issues. In addition to making the designer energy saving monitors available for free to help people cut their energy consumption around the home; Sky is also scheduling a day of environmental programmes – of all kinds - on nine channels ranging from green-themed The Simpson’s episodes on Sky1 to documentaries such as Extreme Ice’ in high definition on National Geographic.

 

As a designer Richard Nicoll’s catwalk collections have received high praise in recent years since his first collection was shown in 2005. Born in Britain and raised in Australia the designer graduated from Central St Martin’s college, before working with fashion houses including Louis Vuitton along side Marc Jacobs. He is now considered one of London’s most talented young designers and was named “Best Young Designer” at the recent Elle Style Awards. 

 

Richard Nicoll says “The environment is a subject close to my heart so I wanted to lend my creative support to this project with Sky and help raise awareness for Earth Day.  Hopefully my design for the energy saving monitor will help people make changes around the house to have a positive and lasting impact on the environment.”

How the Wattson works:

• Setting up Wattson is simple, just connect it to either to the mains electricity cables from the house to the meter box or to the fuse box.
• Once connected, the Wattson’s display shows how many watts or pounds the home is using at any one time.
• On the underside of the monitor a series of coloured lights will show how much energy is being used by glowing a different colour. Wattson monitors the overall usage to get an average - when the light turns blue less energy than normal is being used, when it glows purple the average amount of energy for the home is being used and  when it glow red this means that more electricity than normal is being used at that time.

I agree. If enough were created to support a large footprint, it would outstrip the natural gas supply and it would create higher gas prices. I would probably put the gas supply at risk, and that would have an impact in home heating. now link my name to know me,and each other we all get the good things.don't think that I cheat you,pls.
